Verbatim's new thermal printable DVD-R for Authoring discs offer the same capacity and high performance found in Verbatim's DataLifePlus DVD-Recordable media family, but also have a disc structure and surface coating that allows full compatibility with Rimage and Primera thermal disc printers. Verbatim thermal printable DVD-R have a blank white surface coating that has been optimized for thermal label printing in either multi-color or mono-color modes. These discs also have a feature called no stack ring , which enables print coverage of the entire disc surface. Most DVD-R discs have a stacking ring in the hub area which interferes with the thermal printing process. Verbatim DVD-R for Authoring media offer 4.7GB of storage capacity and superior recording quality. Verbatim DVD-R discs are based on a proprietary advanced Metal Azo recording dye. Metal Azo provides the highest level of reliability, archival life and recording stability at the lower recording wavelengths required for DVD. Verbatim DVD-R for Authoring discs are compatible with Pioneer DVD-R for Authoring drives, and read compatible with DVD-ROM drives and DVD-Video players.
